These Heating, Ventilation as well as A/C component thieves simply rip apart the Heating, Ventilation as well as A/C cupboard in order to get their hands on that little bit of copper. Then they get ripped off by unscrupulous clients who pay them pennies on the dollar. While I feel for these folks, I have taken steps to secure my Heating, Ventilation as well as A/C equipment. I now have a reinforced steel cage that fits over the Heating, Ventilation as well as A/C cupboard and locks down to the concrete pad underneath.
