It’s so weird how I tend to just immediately tune out when a store or service wants to tell me about their latest offer.
- In my brain, all I’m hearing is upsell so I tend to just tune out and say no thanks.
I did just that last spring when I called to make the air conditioning tune up with the HVAC company. The lady I spoke with at the HVAC company wanted to tell me about the HVAC service plan they were offering. And just like I always do, I said no thanks and hurried to hang up the phone. But when I heard the words “it could save you money”, I listened a little bit more to the lady from the HVAC company. Had she not been politely persistent, I would have missed out on a great deal when it comes to protecting my heating and cooling equipment. When we bought this house, we got the latest in residential HVAC along with all the HVAC technology that was available. I’ve always believed in protecting my investments. So I’ve been diligent about getting heating maintenance in the fall followed by air conditioning tune ups in the spring. By joining the HVAC service plan, I’m getting added benefits because I don’t have to remember to schedule the HVAC maintenance. On top of that, if I should ever have a breakdown while in the HVAC service plan, I only pay for the parts for any HVAC repair. That’s where the saving money part really does come into play. But I also really love the convenience of not having to worry about making the HVAC appointments any longer. I told the lady at the HVAC company that I really appreciated her following up with me about the HVAC service plan.
