Have you ever been doing something for most your life and then found out that you were doing it wrong this entire time? I have and for me it was how I take care of my heating and air conditioning system, in particular how I change out my air filters. I only changed out my air filters once a year. Yes I know, that’s disgusting. But I really thought that that was the amount that you were supposed to change them. Additionally, I didn’t know that you had to have heating and AC tune-ups done, and so I only went and scheduled heat and AC maintenance and service appointments when something would go wrong. What helped me realize that I was taking care of my heating and AC system wrong was this last time that my air conditioning system broke down and I had to schedule an appointment with the local hack company so they could send someone out to fix it. When I was talking to the local HVAC technician he told me that I need to have my heating and AC tune ups done sooner. He was under the assumption that I had been having them done and I told him that I hadn’t. He told me that’s why I was having so many issues with my heating and cooling system and that if I started having regular maintenance done those problems would go away. He was right too because ever since I started taking care of my HVAC system properly I haven’t had any further issues.
