My aunt used to say that failing to plan is the surest way to live a bad life. I didn’t quite understand what she meant until I became an adult who lives alone plus shoulders her responsibilities. She felt as though my mom, her younger sibling, cushioned us from the realities of life. Our biggest challenge was the air conditioner. The small garage space my buddy and I rented would get too hot in summer, plus the portable AC the owner had given us was barely doing its job. The windows were not letting in enough air, so the space was stuffy, plus the humidity levels were also high. After about two months, I returned home, where the air conditioner was not a challenge. Mum was blissful to have me back, but my aunt was disappointed. She believed that my buddy and I could survive with no AC plus a better plan to find an part with a regular heating plus cooling system.
