When planning our trip I booked a relatively cheap hotel.
It had superb enough reviews, but besides, it was pet friendly & we would be taking the family pet with us, however, two afternoons before the trip I started to have second thoughts. I was learning some of the negative reviews for the hotel & got truly anxious, but people talked of bed bugs & PTAC systems that didn’t work, and this section can get truly warm. It is crucial that the a/c unit works in our hotel room, but cleanliness is also truly crucial! So I decided to change our hotel at the last minute. I picked a hotel with much better reviews. The hotel also costs a bit more but I decided it was worth it. Besides, this current hotel was pet friendly too… On the day of our trip we drove over 4 hours & were delighted to have finally made it to our destination. However, we then discovered that the entire hotel shares the same a/c. There was no control unit in our room at all. There was just one big Heating & A/C vent. The a/c was set to about 69 degrees night & day. This is colder than I like it. There was a small space heating system in the room however it wasn’t chilly enough to use it. I just wish the hotel had installed zone control so we could adjust the control unit in our room. Oh well, at least it was clean, however my buddy and I did end up having a truly nice trip. The a/c was also truly quiet. So I don’t have much to complain about. However, I’m not sure I would stay at that hotel again if we ever go back to that area.
