Setting the control unit higher doesn’t heat the apartment up faster

I woke up in the middle of the night last night & was roasting hot.

I uncovered & went to the control unit & found that it had been set to 98 degrees & the boiler was still on.

I instantly knew it was my husband who did it; Tonight was the first night my associate and I had used the furnace for multiple months. My associate and I got apartment & it was cold inside. My husband seems to feel that by turning the furnace up higher, it will heat up faster. I keep telling him it doesn’t work that way & to just set the control unit to the temperature he would like the apartment to be. But of course, I didn’t pay attention when he turned the furnace on last night… Usually, he remembers & turns the control unit back down once the apartment is comfortable, however he must have forgotten tonight & now my associate and I have wasted a lot of energy heating up the apartment this way. I also knew I wouldn’t be able to sleep in that kind of heat so I opened a few windows & reset the control unit to about 20 degrees colder. About two hours later, I was finally able to sleep again. Of course, he slept through the whole incident even though I let him know what he had done this afternoon. He promised it won’t happen again even though I know it will. That is, unless I check the control unit before bed myself. Oh well, I suppose my associate and I all have quirks that annoy each other. However, he might learn his lesson when he sees the utility bill.
