No central air leading to dirty home

A lot of people have good experiences and bad experiences when it comes to buying a house.

  • Our experience hasn’t been all that great.

Within the first month of us living there our basement flooded with a few inches of water and it was a mess to clean up. It turns out that the french drain was blocked and clogged causing a lot of ground water to seep through and into our basement. We’ve also done a lot of renovation throughout the home such as redoing the bathrooms and the kitchen. All of the work that we’ve done in the house has caused a lot of dust, dirt and dander to be spread throughout the home. We’ve had so much of it that I can literally feel the small particles on the bottom of my feet. I don’t know if this has anything to do with it but I feel like there is an excessive amount of dirt on our floors because we do not have forced air. I really wish our heating and cooling system had central heating and cooling. Because of not having a return vent or any type of filtering system for the air in our house, our home is prone to having more dirt. I absolutely cannot stand it and I have gotten sick so many times this year because of no fresh air or filtration. We currently have electric baseboard heating. The baseboard heating is an eyesore, it’s the first thing that you see when you look into our living room. We’re going to have to deal with it for the next few years or until a lot of other renovations are done. Eventually I want to replace the electric baseboard heating and get central heating and cooling.
